On October 29, 2025, Avantor, Inc. reported disappointing third quarter 2025 results, including -5% organic revenue growth, which fell short of the guidance the Company had provided in August, and a net loss of $712 million. The Company attributed the loss primarily to a non-cash goodwill impairment charge of $785 million.

Management acknowledged that the impairment was driven in part by “competitive pressures” that had “meaningfully impacted” Avantor’s margins and further admitted to losing several large accounts.

Following this announcement, Avantor’s stock price fell $3.50 per share, or more than 23%, declining from $15.08 on October 28, 2025, to $11.58 on October 29, 2025.
